Bull, Gordon William (G.W. Groovy)

The Bull family is saddened to announce the passing of our brother Gord after a lengthy battle with cancer on Monday, May 16th. He was 73 years old. He was a loving brother to his four sisters, Donna (Ron deceased), Barbara (Dale), Carol, Sandra (Craig) and his six brothers David, Danny, John, Robert, Michael and Ron. Survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and his dear friend Sheila. Predeceased by his parents Don and Phyllis (Mason) Bull.

Gord retired from National Defense at the age of 50, and spent over 40 years as a part time bartender at the Prescott, The Grads and the Carleton Tavern, where his family and friends hung out.  Gord was a very positive, happy go lucky guy, always had a joke to tell, loved life, family gatherings, reading and country music (especially listening to Country Classics every Sunday morning). He spent his entire life in the west end (Westboro) and was so proud to call Ottawa home. He really enjoyed TV and especially watching Hallmark movies with Sheila. He loved the sun and always had a beautiful tan. Gord loved buying lottery tickets and talking about how he would spend his winnings, sadly he never did win the big one.

The family would like to thank Dr. Bernard MacIntosh for his devoted and professional care. We will all miss Gord terribly! He is the first sibling to pass away and we hope he will get to see his Mom, Dad, his brother-in-law Ron and many Aunts and Uncles.

Visitation at the Garden Chapel of Tubman Funeral Homes, 3440 Richmond Road (between Baseline Road and Bayshore Drive) on Thursday, May 26th from 3 to 9 pm. Service in the chapel on Friday, May 27th at 11:00 followed by a reception. The service will be live streamed.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
