Gonzalo Morales Veas

Our beloved Gonzalo passed away on August 15, 2024 in Ottawa, Canada. He is survived by the love of his life, his wife of 17 years Veronica, and his beautiful children Benjamin and Lucas. 

His passion for learning will never be forgotten. Gonzalo migrated from Chile to Canada to carry out his PhD studies in Finance at the University of British Columbia, where he nurtured a deep passion for research. After graduating, he worked at the University of Alberta and most recently as a Principal Economist at the Bank of Canada. 

A celebration of life memorial service will be held at the Garden Chapel of Tubman Funeral Homes, 3440 Richmond Road, on Saturday, August 24, 2024 at 11am.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Gonzalo’s memory to Autism Ontario, a cause very close to his heart.
