Glen Sheskay

Glen Douglas Sheskay

(December 19, 1947 – November 21, 2019)

Glen was an energetic, kind and friendly person who touched the lives of many people in Ottawa in small ways − and touched the hearts of his family in big ways.

Glen grew up in Hull before spending his early adult years working in many different towns and cities. He eventually returned to Ottawa to join his family’s chip truck business, running Glen’s French Fries in Westboro through much of the 1980s and ‘90s. Not content to retire after selling his business, he worked part time as a driver for Para Transpo, still keeping in touch with the people of Ottawa until his untimely passing.

Glen was predeceased by his loving parents Joseph and Doris, his wife Katalin (Pinter), and his younger sister Joanie. He is deeply missed by his son Glenn (Heather) and his grandsons Evan and Brendan, of whom he was deeply proud. He is also profoundly missed by his older brother Frank (Colleen), as well as his beloved nieces, cousins and extended family in Ottawa and Thunder Bay.

Glen loved music, games, sports and the occasional friendly wager. He had the energy to work long hours and exercise into his 70s, but could also kick back and relax. Whether taking a client around the city or serving up the perfect box of fries, he was always willing to go the extra mile with a smile on his face.

An informal gathering will be held at the Tubman Funeral Homes Garden Chapel at 3440 Richmond Road on Sunday December 1, 2019. Please feel free to drop in anytime between 1 and 4 p.m. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada would be appreciated.
