Gillian Rose Litchinsky

In hospital Sunday January 19th , Gillian Litchinsky, aged 68. Much loved wife of Dan, and mother of Colleen, Terry & Jeffery. Dear grandmother of Caleb. Survived also by her brother Peter & brother-in-law Jirayr. Born in Hooke, Hampshire England, she came to Canada in 1973, following the love of her life. During 35 years of Kidney Dialysis and health issues, her love of life never diminished and was an inspiration to her family, friends and community. Gillian was active in the Kidney Foundation for 18 years, including as local president and later provincial president; she successfully advocated for changes to OHIP regulations to enable dialysis patients to travel. She also ran an art gallery and founded an artists’ co-op in Stittsville and owned a Bed & Breakfast in Sandy Hill with her husband. A celebration of Gillian’s life will be held on Sunday, January 26th from 1 to 5 pm at the Nepean Sailing Club, west of Andrew Hayden Park. Donations in Gillian’s memory may be made to the Kidney Foundation of Canada.
