Cole, Gerry
Retired Ottawa Citizen
Past President Cedarhill Golf and Country Club
Peacefully at the Ruddy-Shenkman Hospice on Thursday, January 2, 2020 in his 90th year. Beloved husband of Beverly Nightingale and predeceased by his first wife Gladys. Loving father of Jeff (Bev), Stephen (Debbie), Terry (Tracy), Nancy Frame (Rodney), Lynn (Bob), John, and Brenda (Gary). Cherished grandfather of Stewart (Pascale), Jamie (Laurie), Jessica, Ryan (Lisa), Julia (Paul), Kaitlin (Derek), Hayden, Dalton, Jessica, Samantha (Matthew) and Lindzy. Great-grandfather of Ava, Declan and Preston. Dear son of the late Madonna and Gilbert Cole and brother of June Laderoute (Charlie) and Brian (Valerie).
Gerry was proud to grow up in the “village”. He loved to travel and was fortunate to see most of the world. For many years he wintered in Indian Harbour Beach Florida, where he met many lifelong friends. Gerry was a man who not only loved life, he embraced it. He looked forward to new experiences like a young child and leapt at the chance to meet up with old friends. He loved music and dancing, golf and art (especially his hand made Christmas Cards). But most of all, he loved family and they loved him back. Special thanks to Rodney Moorhead, Doctors Douglas and Cross and the staff of LHIN for their exceptional care.
