From his last home at the Perley Rideau Veterans Health Centre, George left to join his Maker and his beloved wife, Jeannie, on Friday 20 December 2013.Born in Kingston, Ontario, he spent his career in communications; from Bell Canada Lineman to Communications Consultant to the Senate of Canada.George is survived by his son, William (Pamela), grandchildren Carole Lauweryssen (Glen), Jordan and Bradley, and great-grandchildren, Benjamin, Jayne and Anna.

He was always very proud of his family and basked in their accomplishments. That George reached his 91st year is a testament to the excellent care of the Ottawa Heart Institute.In the Spring, a date will be announced regarding the Military Internment Service for George and Jeannie at the National Military Cemetery of Canada, followed by a Celebration of Life reception at Beechwood Cemetery and Funeral Services.The family asks you to consider a donation to Soldier On, the Ottawa Heart Institute, or the Perley Rideau Veterans Health Centre.
