Frair, George Edward Hughes
April 9, 1930 – February 13, 2016
It is with sadness that the family of George Edward Hughes Frair announces his passing on February 13, 2016. George was born and raised in rural eastern Ontario and spent his adult years in Nepean, Ontario. He carried the values he learned in childhood into his adult life and was one of the kindest people you could ever hope to meet. He helped people out any chance he got, never had a harsh word to say about anyone, worked hard and was an honest and caring person. George’s passions included music, particularly Glenn Miller and the Big Band Era, golf and any activities involving children and teens. He spent many happy years interacting with the carrier boys and girls when he worked with the Ottawa Journal’s distribution division, he coached many children’s sports teams and he organized teen dances for the Manordale-Woodvale Community Association among other activities. He felt any time spent with a child was time well-invested in their future. George was pre-deceased by his father, Harold, his mother, Greta, as well as by his brother-in-law, Donald, and his nephew, Donald. He leaves to mourn his sister, Erma, his nephew, Eric and family, his son, Glenn, his daughter, Lynne, his grandchildren, Dalton and Delanie, and his great-grandson, Orion. There will not be a service at this time. Donations may be made to the Diabetes Association and condolence cards may be mailed to the Frair Family c/o Tubman Funeral Homes, 403 Richmond Road, Ottawa, Ontario K2A 0E9.
