Henry Andrew Geoffrey Cousens
Passed away peacefully after a hard fought battle with cancer on Wednesday, June 19, 2024. He was 52 years old.
Geoff was a loving son, big brother, dad, nephew, uncle and friend. He was loved by many and will be missed by many more. Most notably, he leaves behind his sons Dylan and Matthew, with whom he shared many hours fishing and exploring the Rideau River. They enjoyed gaming and building forts together. And not just any fort. A 3-story treehouse was more their style.
Few were aware of Geoff's artistic side. He was meticulous and poured his heart into all his beautiful and creative artwork.
Geoff was kind, compassionate and accepting of everyone. He demonstrated those traits in his work at the Rotary Home and as an Educational Assistant for the Catholic School board, places that benefitted from his generous spirit.
One of the many things that brought joy to Geoff was the wildlife right outside his back door. He always made sure there was an abundance of peanuts for the birds and squirrels. The raccoons were extra special to Geoff. They were treated to many peanut butter sandwiches that he made and left for them, yet another act of kindness in a life filled with so many.
A celebration of life will be held at the Manotick Legion, 5550 Ann St. in Manotick on Sunday, July 21, 2024 from 1 pm to 4 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Rideau Valley Conservation Authority.
