It is with heavy hearts Garry's family announces his passing on Tuesday September 18 th , 2018. He was the beloved husband and best friend of Marilyn. They celebrated their 60 th Anniversary on September 6 th , 2018 with 2 awesome parties. Garry was very proud of his children, and grandchildren, they brought much joy into his life. Much loved father of Linda (Charlie), Matthew (Julie) and Nancy. Garry will be fondly remembered by his daughter in law Shirley. Cherished grandfather of Michael, Jessie (Steve), Kyle (Laurel), Johnston and Brady. Great grandfather to little Benjamin. Survived by his sister Valery and brother in law Don (Pat). Predeceased by his sisters Edna and Ruby. Respected and loved uncle of Mavis (Donald), Ron (Lise), Bruce (Gloria), Donna (Claire), Kevin (Lorraine), Wayne (predeceased), Stephen (Karyen), Carol (Brent) and Gayle. Great uncle to many nieces and nephews. He will be missed by many family and friends and all who knew him. Garry was a lifelong member and faithful leader of St Paul's Anglican Church, Hazeldean, Kanata. He used his gifts for the ongoing support, fundraising and maintenance of that Community. He was also a Director/Chair for Richmond Agricultural Society for Richmond Fair from 1994 to 1999. The last 2 years he served, Garry chaired the heavy horse classes, which he thoroughly loved. We would like to thank the current & past staff of St Elizabeth Healthcare for their dedication to Garry's medical needs. Mom and Dad have enjoyed so many laughs with the staff, who will be missed in their home. The family rejoices that Garry is now with the God who created him and the people who went before him. Relatives and friends are invited to meet with the family at St Paul's Anglican Church, 20 Young Road on Friday, September 28 from 7-9 p.m. and on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service in the church at 11:00 a.m., a reception will follow. Interment to take place at Maple Grove Cemetery at 1:30 p.m. If desired, donations in memory of Garry may be made to St Paul's Anglican Church (for air conditioning fund).
