Scharfe- Gail Elizabeth
Slipped away peacefully in the beautiful surroundings and compassionate care of May Court Hospice with her loving husband Stephen nearby. She was the love of his life and best friend, and a dear friend to many. Predeceased by her parents Arnold and Cecilia Scharfe (née Léger) and nephew Jason Minoque. Beloved sister of Carole Villeneuve (Roger), Diane Minogue (late Norman), Judy Sampson (Joe), John Scharfe (Barbara) and Donald Scharfe (Lynn). Loving aunt of Michel (Pascale), Jennifer, James, Mark, Robert, Crystal, Alicia, Chantel, Melanie (Andrew) and their daughter Cecilia. She will be sadly missed by her in-laws and friends. She courageously battled a rare form of cancer for many years. Our sincere thanks and appreciation to the caregivers Anne-Marie, Kate, Trish and Sally, who worked tirelessly to provide quality home care and support to Gail near the end of her 62 years. Our thanks to Beth Donovan Hospice for their support. Also our recognition for the compassion and care by the medical staffs of the Roswell Park Cancer Institute in Buffalo, NY; the Princess Margaret Hospital in Toronto; and the Queensway Carleton and General Hospitals in Ottawa. Stephen will always be grateful for the time they bought for his darling Gail, allowing her to travel to some of the world's wondrous places.
