Gail Harmer MUTTON

September 17, 1952 – August 20, 2020

Gail has gone to be with the angels, in her 68th year. She is survived by her husband Ross, niece Tara Schaub, nephews Jan Gysbers (Patricia Heaney), Trevor Harmer (Leah) and Lucas Harmer (Taylor), goddaughter Tash (Michelle), sister-in-law Carole Harmer, brother-in-law Adrian Gysbers, and great nieces and nephews. Pre deceased by her mother Marjorie and father Gerald (Jay) Harmer, brother Joel and sister Karen (Kerry).  She lived a full life and touched so many people.  She was a graduate and long time employee and supporter of Carleton University. She worked in Graphic Services and then Research Accounting, was on the Board of Governors. She volunteered at Harmer House seniors residence including on the Board, the University of Ottawa Heart Institute, and was an active member of the congregation of Bells Corners United Church. She knitted dozens of scarves for Centre 507.  She also wrote a column, Plattsville on My Mind, for the Ayr News. Her high school motto was Carpe Diem – she lived by that, and she coined the phrase Life is Good, Live It!  A memorial service will be held at Bells Corners United Church in the Fall. Special thanks to Sarah, and the caregivers at West End Villa and the Queensway Carleton Hospital. Memorial donations may be made to Bells Corners United Church, the Dementia Society, or the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.  Condolences or donations may be made at www.tubmanfuneralhomes.com
