Frederick Graham Shipman

Grant rest O Lord to the soul of your faithful servant Frederick (Fred) Shipman, (born April 3, 1922) who passed away peacefully at May Court Hospice, Ottawa, ON, November 8, 2024, at the age of 102 years.

Predeceased by his loving wife Leita Bertha Shipman (of sixty-nine years) and his daughter Judith Susan Matthewson .

Lovingly remembered by his daughter, Barbara Shipman (Gene Dejneka) of Edmonton, AB, son in law Ian Matthewson of Russell, ON, blessed grandfather of Leanna Olson (Jarrod) of Calgary AB, Andrew Dejneka of Calgary, AB and grateful great grandfather of Abigail, Francis and Elise Olson of Calgary, AB.

Dear older brother of Dorothy Legenza (Frank) and Ray Shipman (Millie) and fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews.

The family is especially grateful for the health professionals, personal service workers and Veterans Affairs who supported Fred as well as his caring neighbours, friends and family who allowed Fred to remain living and enjoying his own community.

A visitation will be held at the Garden Chapel of Tubman Funeral Homes, 3440 Richmond Road on Friday, November 15, 2024, from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held in the chapel on Saturday, November 16 at 11:00 am with reception to follow. Interment will be held privately for the family.
