Graduate of Royal Victoria Hospital, 1953, and Algonquin College, 1980

It is with profound sadness that we announce that Fran has surrendered to a brave battle with cancer on Thursday, December 2nd.
Fran was born Sept, 29, 1931 in Grand Falls, NL. At the age of 18 she left NL to train as a nurse in Montreal. Following graduation she returned to Gander where she met husband Ron. They settled in Ottawa in 1956. Fran and Ron enjoyed 61 years of marriage filled with cherished memories. Fran worked for many years as a nurse to pediatrician Dr. J. Fletcher and following his retirement, she worked as an Occupational Health nurse at Telesat. She was an active volunteer to Girl Guides, Canadian Blood Services and Engineers' Wives Association and was an avid bridge player.
Loving mother of Debbie Demizio (Frank), Gary, Colin (Patti), Maureen Casey (Shawn), and Wendy Renaud. Predeceased by son Mark (Tina) and husband Ron.
Proud grandmother of Angela Proskos (Stephen), James, Sara Demizio (Ben Farrow), Taylor Casey (Lauren), Lindsay Casey (Andrew Litwinczuk), Jasmine Gertridge (Chris), Scott, Rachel; Hailey and Chelsea Renaud.
Great "GG" to Alivia Gertridge, Jack Casey, Penelope and Oliver Farrow, Sophia Proskos and Mackenzie Litwinczuk. Survived by sisters Pat Eveleigh and Margaret Baker. Remembered fondly by many nieces, nephews, and friends.
