Piitz, Ethel Alberta
Nee Montpetit
After a long life, well lived and full of adventure, Ethel decided it was time to make a graceful exit on Monday, July 31, 2017. Ethel loved people, was a devoted friend, avid sportswoman, Canadian championship curler (her portrait still hangs in the Flin Flon, Manitoba Sports Hall of Fame), bookkeeper, golfer, card shark, music lover, singer, mandolin player, square dancer, world traveler, passionate feminist, poet, talented seamstress, proud Canadian and loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She had a unique sense of humour with impeccable timing, and she loved a good party! She always said that she wished for daughters who were intelligent, good at sports, and loved music. Wish granted and then some! She found a loving husband in Ed, and they had a 58-year love affair. We all love you and we will miss you. Edward, daughters Lois, Lori, Marlene (Louis), and grandchildren Nick, Emilie, and Luke. Our sincere thanks to everyone at Robertson House for taking such good care of Ethel. Friends may visit at the Garden Chapel of Tubman Funeral Homes, 3440 Richmond Road, Nepean (between Bayshore and Baseline Road) on Tuesday, August 8, 2017 from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in Ethel's name to The Dementia Society of Ottawa and Renfrew County, or your local hospice.
