Erma Hymers

Born August 31, 1930, in Ottawa, Ontario. Died peacefully, surrounded by her family, on November 26, 2013 at Credit Valley Hospital in Mississauga, Ontario. Beloved wife of the late Stanley Hymers, loving mother of Glenn (Judy) and Gail, devoted grandmother of Jacqueline, Sean and Scott and great grandmother of Evan. Erma was predeceased by her sister Vera and brothers Bill, Bert and Earl. Erma grew up in Ottawa. While attending school she excelled at both academics and sports, particularly tennis and badminton. Erma and Stanley were married in 1950. Together they raised their family, were active members of their church and community, and established life long friendships. Erma was passionate about her family and supporting them in their endeavors and aspirations. With her children fully grown, she embarked on a new phase of her life as a planning coordinator with the Federal government. She leaves a legacy of humour, wit and a passion for enjoying what you choose to do with your life. In her final years she resided at Sunrise Retirement Living in Mississauga, Ontario where she developed a new circle of wonderful friends and caregivers. We want to thank the caring and empathic doctors and nurses at the Credit Valley Hospital in Mississauga. A private family service will be held on Saturday November 30th with interment at Capital Memorial Gardens.
