Emma Christianna Lafleur (nee Read)

With great sadness our family wishes to announce the passing of Emma Lafleur. Emma was a kind and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Emma was a caring Ottawa Civic Hospital Nurse graduating class of 1949. Emma was predeceased by her husband Bill and son David. Loving mother of daughter Karen Houlden, son-in-law Gordon Houlden and daughter-in-law Mary Louise Lafleur. Proud grandmother of Laura Jones (David Woods), Amy Jones (Fiona Noakes), Danny Lafleur (Whitney Siegmann Lafleur), Christine Learning (Todd Learning) and step-grandmother of Conrad, Lauren and Carmen Chartrand-Houlden. Devoted great grandmother of Emily and Lillian Woods, Olivia and Anna Learning and Nate Lafleur. Survived by siblings Betty Carroll (late Tom), Everett Read (Dorothy), Grace Scott (late Bert). Predeceased by siblings Erma Marcenko (late Bill), Willa McKay (Basil). Survived by sister-in-law Petie Rainbird (late Bill). Predeceased by sister-in-law Allyn Saunders (Bill). Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Emma will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Family and friends may call at the Garden Chapel of Tubman Funeral Homes, 3440 Richmond Road, Nepean on Friday November 25th 2016 from 6-8 p.m. and Saturday November 26th from 10-11 a.m. Celebration of Life will be held in the Chapel on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. followed by a reception in the Maple Terrace Reception Centre.
