Peacefully on September 26, 2013 in her 93rd year. Born in Greenock Scotland, she was a W.A.F. nurse in WWII, falling in love with a wounded R.C.A.F air gunner with Bomber Command. They married and she became a Scottish war bride, moving to Canada in 1943.She lived in Kingston, Renfrew and finally Ottawa. Betty was pre-deceased by John, her loving husband of 63 years and by her sister Mary of Devon England. Betty will be greatly missed by her son Glen (Rachel),sister Margaret (Cecil), brother Robert (Mary) and by her niece, nephews, family and friends. Heartfelt gratitude is offered for the loving and gentle care she received from the wonderful staff at Kensington Gardens, Toronto. Cremation has already taken place. Relatives and friends will be welcome at the Garden Chapel at Tubman Funeral Homes, 3440 Richmond Road, Nepean on Sunday October 20th from 2 p.m. until time of memorial service in the chapel at 3:00 p.m. followed by a reception.
