Edward Montague

Edward "Fast Eddie" Montague, age 89, left this world to be with his beloved late wife, Irene Peacock Laird on Friday, January 12, 2018. His daughter by his side.

He was born Oct. 8, 1928 in Glasgow, Scotland, the youngest of 6 children.

Ed immigrated to Canada at age 20, and worked at the Burlington Steel Co. for 25 years, but he would rather have been a gardener… preferably at a golf course. A man of great faith, and devoted to his family, which he considered his highest calling.

He is survived by his beloved daughter, Mary Lynn; son-in-law Robert Joberty; cherished twin grandchildren Katherine & David (Elizabeth); sister Mary Tyson in the US; nephews Edward Montague in Scotland and Malcolm Clift and his wife Helen in England.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thur. Jan. 18, 2018, 11:00 am, St. Patrick's Roman Catholic Church, Fallowfield, Ontario.
