It is with great sadness that the family of Dr. John T. Goodman announce his passing on March 14th, 2014. He was the beloved husband of Jane (Maxine) for 52 years, cherished father of Andrea (Andre Smith) and Julie (Dean Tripp) and fiercely proud granddad to Melissa MacAulay (Evan), Madeline, Adam, Ana, Joseph, and Natasha. He is survived by his brothers Donald (Hilda), Bob (Edith) & sister Linda. He was predeceased by sisters Norma, Beryl & Bernice. His many nieces and nephews also share in our grief.
John graduated with highest honours with his Ph.D. in Psychology from Michigan State University in 1965. John was also appointed as a professor of Psychology and Pediatrics at the University of Ottawa from 1975-2000. He maintained a private practice, providing psychological services and consulting, from 1968 until the day of his passing. He served as president of the College of Psychologists of Ontario from 1996 to 1998.
