Dorothy Tippett

October 2, 1931 — February 28, 2024

Passed away peaceful on Wednesday, February 28, 2024, at the Salvation Army Grace Manor, where she has resided for the last seven years. A lifelong volunteer, Dorothy, has worked for H and R Block, and the Petawawa Legion. She drove for Carefor, taking people to Doctor's appointments and hospitals. She was an accomplished seamstress, painter and loyal friend. Her sweet disposition stayed with her till the end. 

Born in New Liskeard, Ontario, raised in Port Perry, as the beloved wife of the late Captain Arthur Tippett she lived on both coasts. Mother of Donna Edmondson (Steve), Grandmother of Jaye Irving (Julie), Zachariah Sprackett (Emely), Elijah Bouchard and Caleb Bouchard (Shireen). Great-grandmother of Kieren and Kaeli, Ruby and Hazel. Daughter of the late William and Olive McCartney (nee Harrison). Sister of Wilma Midgley, Ruth Underwood, Carol Cleverdon, Victoria Popovitch, Barbara McCartney, Bill McCartney, Dan McCartney and Mary Heber. Predeceased by sisters Phyllis Selby, Hazel McCartney and Gail Harper. 

Respecting Dorothy's wishes, cremation will take place and a graveside Service will be announced at a later date. As an expression of sympathy, donations to the Petawawa Legion or The Dementia Society of Ottawa & Renfrew County, would be appreciated.
