Dorothy Isabel Read (nee Saunders) 

Dorothy Isabel Read, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on October 24, 2024, at the age of 91, surrounded by her loving family. 

Dorothy was the devoted wife and best friend of Everett Read for 65 wonderful years. She was known for her kindness and caring personality, always remembering the birthdays and anniversaries of her loved ones. 

She is survived by her loving daughters: Joanne Read (Bill Davies), Heather (Kevin Clarke), and Lori (Jason Porteous). Dorothy was a proud grandmother to Chris (Tanya), Lindsey (Charles), Conner (Ashley), Brendan (Sierra), and Dylan (Bryn). She was also a cherished step-grandmother to Parker and Garrett and a devoted great-grandmother to Weston and Clarke. 

Dorothy was predeceased by her sister Mary Gordon (late Melbourne) and her brother Maurice Saunders (Diane). Survived by her sisters-in-law Betty Carroll (late Tom) and Grace Scott (late Bert) and predeceased by sisters-in-law Emma Lafleur (late Bill), Willa McKay (late Basil) and Erma Marcenko (late Bill). Additionally, she leaves behind several nieces and nephews who will miss her dearly. 

The family will hold an intimate private service in Dorothy's honor. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Ottawa Hospital Foundation Dialysis Unit or a charity of your choice. 

Dorothy will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
