Donna Jones - Delcorde

Donna (née Fraser) Jones-Delcorde (1927-2024) 

Predeceased by the love of her life, best friend and husband, Harold. She is survived by her daughter Mary Ann (late Bryan Wheeler), son Dr. David Jones-Delcorde (Cindi Neilson), grandchildren - Cole Jones (Theresa Bell), Dr. Adam Jones-Delcorde (Evan Perley-Robertson), and Dr. Brooke Linden (Phil Linden); and great-grandchildren – Casper and Zoey Jones, and Gwyneth Linden. Predeceased by half-siblings Lorna, Patricia, and Allan, and brother Donald. Donna was the daughter of Donald Fraser and Eileen Jackson. 

Family was everything to Donna, and she was absolutely thrilled to have been able to spend this past Christmas, and her 96th birthday, with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren helping to blow out those birthday candles (no we did not put 96 candles on the cake!). She was also so happy to know that there were two more additional great-grandchildren to be arriving in 2024. She will miss their arrival, but modern ultrasound technology did provide for early portraits to be shared all around.  

Donna worked for the Federal Government for many years, retiring in 1991, but above all else she loved her family. She was looking forward to spring and her gardens. She was a cancer survivor having beat melanoma in 1981. Unfortunately, the cancer did return, and it was cancer that defeated her in the end. Despite this, Donna lived her life on her own terms up until the very last few hours. She will be fondly remembered by many friends and relatives.  

Memorial Service will be held at the Garden Chapel of Tubman Funeral Homes, 3440 Richmond Road, Nepean on Sunday, February 18th, at 1:30p.m. with visitation prior at 12:30p.m., and a reception to follow. For those wishing, in lieu of flowers donation to the Canadian Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated.
