Dolce Little

March 26, 1936-April 30, 2021, at the age of 85.

Predeceased by her loving husband Andy, son Kip and three brothers Silvio, Alberto and Dino.

Dolce - aka Nana, was so deeply loved and will be greatly missed by her devoted children Holiday (Nathan) and Marcus (Lori), grandchildren; Hunter (Angela), Taylor, Lincoln & London and great granddaughters Grace & Ivy, her sister Yola and her extended family members.

Dolce was also loved by so many beautiful life-long friends. The family wishes to thank her friends for their love and devotion to her. She will be remembered fondly for her love of reading, her passion for playing and watching tennis, for practicing and teaching yoga well before it was trendy and for her love of water, sunrises and sunsets.

Dolce and her husband Andy were a model couple, who even when they disagreed, didn’t fight. They had an inner peace which sustained their relationship and because of the depth of their love, were able to withstand the tragic loss of a child, a rare accomplishment. Their time and treasured friends in Anna Maria helped them heal together. Together 60 years, they had the kind of love we all dream of.

A gentle and valiant soul, a loyal and caring friend, Dolce led by patient example. A skilled and competitive tennis player, she was deeply rooted in earthly practicality yet she always had a lighthearted giggle for things outside the box. Although she appeared reserved, her exterior belied a great sense of adventure and love of the unusual, which kept her curious and engaged in life.  She pioneered book clubs in Montreal, Ottawa and Florida. Whenever it was her turn to choose a book to review, she created an experience out of it. She would attach a yoga class, a visit to the art gallery or even a talk from the author (Andy - of course). She was also a big fan of desserts served at monthly meetings.

Dolce’s deep stillness became legendary and was transmitted to her yoga students. She’d do her own practices every morning then make notes, select music and prepare for her classes, which always ended with a poem, a prayer or an encouraging story. Her classes were a well-attended and welcome oasis.

Supremely patient, the best friend anyone could ever want, Dolce exhibited a rare loyalty that is only found in the most devoted and spiritually grounded people. The past eight years without Andy were very difficult for Dolce as she battled Neuromyelitis and other health problems. She showed the world how determined and strong she was as she fought daily to get on her feet.

One of Dolce’s greatest sources of joy came from watching and attending all of her children and grandchildren’s various sports and activities. They could always count on her unconditional support and love. In her eyes they were always the stars.

We will miss her dearly but know that she is at peace now. She will live forever in the hearts of those who love her. Rest in Peace and Love, our Angel Dolce.

A private family only celebration of life will be held for Dolce.
