Doinita Elena Andreescu

Doinița Elena Andreescu, 80, passed away peacefully Friday, November 1st, 2024, at St Vincent Hospital, Ottawa, after a brave battle with brain cancer. She was surrounded by her loving husband and two daughters. 

Born on November 26, 1943, in Ghirdoveni, Romania, to Gheorghe and Maria Ionescu, Elena lived her life with grace and kindness, admired for her elegance and beauty, and respected for her drive and resilience.

Hard-working engineer and manager, devoted wife, mother, godmother and sister, fun-loving grandma, Elena held a bachelor degree in chemical engineering from Polytechnic University of Iasi, Romania, and worked for 30 years as a Chemical Research Engineer in Ploiesti, Romania, before she retired and joined her daughters in Canada. 

Elena is survived by her devoted husband, Gheorghe Andreescu, brother Paul Ionescu (Magda), daughters Bianca Andreescu (Cameron Moffett) and Ana-Maria Garami, nephew Sorin Coman (Carolina) and grandkids James, Isabel, Daniel and Robert.

Please join us for a Celebration of Life service on Sunday, November 10th, 2024, between 11 am - 1 pm at Tubman Funeral Home, 3440 Richmond Rd, Nepean. Words of remembrance will start at 11:50 am.
