Born in Liverpool, Nova Scotia, David H. Paterson, son, cousin, brother, scout, trombone player, debater, grew a mustache much to his mom’s displeasure, Nova Scotia Tech graduate ’58, chemical engineer, skier, golfer, tennis player, dancer, lobster enthusiast, executive for 30 years in the Canadian Pulp and Paper Association, husband, uncle, father, model railroader, not at the bottom of the stairs with a stopwatch, bass choir member, grew a beard to his mother’s consternation, church trustee, driller of holes into new furniture to his wife's consternation, father-in-law, grandfather, model boater, oenophile and traveller, has died in his 86th year and rejoined his beloved wife Pauline (Kovachik) in the hereafter.
He leaves behind his daughters Susan (John) and Lisa (David R.); his son David A. (Jennifer); five grandchildren Henry, Alex, and Ryan, Rachel and Hudson; his brother George (Carole); sister-in-law Millie (the late Bill); brother-in-law Rick (Penny); cousins Alice, Grace, Alan, Peter and Margaret; nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews; and friends across Canada and around the world.
He is also predeceased by his parents Henry and Mary (Coutts) Paterson, as well as his cherished in-laws Bessie (the late Laverne), Anne (the late Irv), his niece Linda (Rai) and nephew Gary (Margaret).
