Peacefully at Garden Terrace at the age of 89. Beloved wife of the late Frederick Gardiner Johnson (Lt. Col., Ret). Dear mother to Ken (Sheila) of Winnipeg, Patricia Wilson (Gord) of Newmarket, Miles (Jennifer) of Calgary, Mike of Kanata and Barb Hicks (David) of Smiths Falls. Predeceased by her brothers Kenneth and Stephen, infant son Roy, and grandson Daniel. Loving grandmother of Robert (Robin) and Adam; Heather and Miles; Michael and Gareth; Alex and Ken; and Greg, Paul, Kevin and Shannon. Great grandmother of Emily. Survived by Gard's siblings Jim (Joyce), Marion White and Marguerite White (Jim). Special thanks to Shirley, Josee and the staff of Garden Terrace and Stillwater for their care. Mom was raised in Winnipeg, and met and married dad while she was in the Canadian Women's Army Corps. Dad's military career took them to Regina, Kingston, England, Virginia, Ottawa, Winnipeg, London and back to Ottawa. Mom enjoyed camping, travelling, bridge, crafts, volunteering, reading, church activities and cottaging on Otty Lake. Mom will be cremated as per her wishes. Memorial service at Bell's Corners United Church, Wednesday, May 14th at noon, followed by a gathering in the church hall.
