Constance Hermena Elton
(nee Clendening)
Our wonderful mother, a person who embodied the spirit of Christmas, died in the wee hours of the morning of December 25, 2015. She was giving and loving with a sense of humour, right to the end of her 104 years. Connie was predeceased by her husband of 66 years, John Henry Elton. She leaves her four children, Jo-Ann Robertson (Hugh), Peter Elton (Jacqueline), Meredith Elton-McLelland (Russell), Christopher Elton (Pam Corcoran) as well as 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. An ardent lover of nature, prolific artist, folk-dancer, impressive do-it-yourselfer, she approached life with an exuberance and positive attitude that was infectious and made her well-loved. From Niagara Falls to Toronto, Brooklin, Huntsville and Ottawa, she led a good long life and found joy in it always. A service celebrating her life will be held this summer at her beloved Sand Lake.
