Bellingham, Connie
Connie Bellingham (nee Constance Madeleine Bilodeau) of Ottawa, Ontario, passed away suddenly of heart failure on November 5, 2019 at the age of 87, after a three-year battle with Alzheimer’s.
Connie was predeceased by her beloved husband Brian, her parents Théode Bilodeau and Marie Roux, her brothers Normand and Jules, and her sisters Réjeanne, Marielle, Rachel, Carmen, and Laurette.
Loving mother of Bill (Mary Miller), Louise and Christine (Ray Carmichael), and proud grandmother of Maddie and Raymond, Connie will be remembered with much love and affection by her family and friends.
Connie was born in Sherbrooke, Quebec and married Brian in 1956. As a military wife she moved through a number of postings in Canada and Europe while having children, and finally settled her young family in Ottawa in 1966. Connie began her career in the Federal Public Service and retired as an Executive Assistant to the Deputy Minister of Public Works in 1987. She enjoyed travelling, bowling, playing cards, golf, and socializing with her friends. Connie was a loving wife, a caring mother, proud grandmother, and a fun-loving and warm friend to many.
The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Longfields Manor and The Ravines for their care and kindness.
A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Augustine Parish, 1060 Baseline Road, Ottawa on Saturday, December 14, 2019 at 11 am. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer Society of Canada or to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada would be appreciated.
