Passed away at the Ottawa Hospital General Campus on January 24, 2015 in his 91 st year, joining his beloved wife Ouida Jean (Petey), who pre-deceased him in 2009. Proud father of Cliff Jr. (Debra), their children, Brynne and Clayton, and daughter Dr. Deborah and her children, Laura (Glen) and Diana (Jesse). He is also survived by his sisters, Lois, Shirley (Al), Joan, Allison (Gordon), and brothers Paul (Darquise), Randy (Karen), and David (Francine). He will also be fondly missed by Petey's children, Missy (Kyran) in Florida, Wesley (Michelle), Peter (Dr. Georgia) and Barbara (Dr. Richard) with their wonderful children in Michigan. Cliff was born and educated in Ottawa. He joined the RCAF on his eighteenth birthday and served on RAF Bomber Command in England for three years. After the war he continued his education and qualified as a chartered accountant in 1953. He created his own public accounting business, practiced in Ottawa for nearly thirty years, during which he volunteered extensively in Ottawa life. He joined the Governor General's Foot Guards as a guardsman and retired as second-in-command with the rank of major. He was also one of the first national directors of the Royal Canadian Army Cadet Corps. He was president of Rideau Kiwanis and a Lt. Governor and was Chairman of the Ottawa Civic Hospital when the Cardiac Unit was built. He was a director of CAA Ottawa Club for more than 25 years, serving a term as Chairman, and also found the time to become a charter member of Tunis Shriners, becoming a Potentate. A memorial service will be held for Cliff at St. David and St. Martin Presbyterian Church, 440 St. Laurent Blvd., Ottawa where he was one of founding members and a former elder,on Thursday, January 29, 2015 at 11 a.m.
