We are sad to announce Clarence's passing on Saturday, August 2 nd at the Peter D. Clark Long Term Treatment Centre after a long battle with Alzheimer's. He is survived by his very devoted wife Millicent (nee Peach) McLaren, cousin Alvin Stewart of Richmond and special friend Sandy Sim. He was predeceased by his mother Annie Stewart, his sister Mabel McLaren, his aunt Mabel Stewart and cousin Robert A. Stewart. On graduation from Nepean High School, he articled with George A. Welch and Company and became a Chartered Accountant. His first job after gradation was with the Board of Transport Commissioners he then established his own accounting practice and for more than 20 years serviced many family businesses in the Ottawa, Metcalfe and Winchester areas. After selling his practice he acted as a financial advisor to two prominent automobile businesses and then became a Financial Analyst the C.B.C Pension Fund. He was an active member of Britannia United Church, The Builders Masonic Lodge and Sage Kiwanis Club of Ottawa and life member of the Ontario Institute of Chartered Accountants. In addition to his professional life Clarence was an excellent carpenter and gardener as well as a successful tree farmer. He loved music and had a special talent for playing piano, entertaining at many gatherings. Deepest appreciation is given to the staff at the Peter D. Clark Long Term Care Home who so ably extended excellent care. Friends may visit at the Garden Chapel of Tubman Funeral Homes, 3440 Richmond Road (between Baseline Rd and Bayshore Dr.) on Thursday, August 7 th , 2014 from 1 p.m. followed by a Celebration of Clarence's Life which will be held in the Chapel at 2 p.m. followed by a reception. Donations to Sage Kiwanis or Britannia United Church would be appreciated.
