Obituary of Catherine Davies (nee Fraser)

It is with great sadness we announce the peaceful passing of Catherine Elizabeth Davies on Friday, September 24, 2021 at the Almonte General Hospital, Rosamond Wing.

Beloved daughter of the late Beecher and Annie Fraser. She leaves behind her grieving children; Tracey, Kelly (Jody), Russell (Christine) and Shannon (Quinton), her 8 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. She is survived by siblings; Jean Martineau (late Don), Freda Kelly (late Andy) and Joe (late Winnie). Cathy is predeceased by her former husband Glyndwr “Glyn" and siblings Mervin (late Barbara), Patsy Manwell (Gerry), Raymond (Iris), Leonard (Marilyn), Forest (late Rose), Brenda (late Ossie), infant Diane and Ted (Judy).

Cathy enjoyed spending her time designing floral arrangements, gardening and reading.  She always spoke fondly of the times she spent in Jamaica and the close friends she had made there. Her family will miss the wonderful warm mittens she lovingly knitted and delicious pies she baked for family gatherings. She will be fondly remembered for her profound love of family and animals. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Friends may call at the Tubman Funeral Homes – Garden Chapel, 3440 Richmond Road, Nepean (between Bayshore and Baseline Road), Ontario on Friday, October 22, 2021 from 7 to 9 p.m., due to the current COVID restrictions, pre-registration is required and can be made by calling (613) 722-6559 and Saturday, October 23 at the Hayes Funeral Home, 134 Centre Street, Shawville, Quebec from 9 to 11 a.m. followed by a graveside service that will be held at the Portage Community Cemetery, Portage-du-Fort, Quebec at 12:30 p.m.
