HORNUNG, Karl Heinz (Carl) Gunther

It is with great sadness that the family announces Carl’s passing on Sunday, February 28, 2021.  He passed away peacefully in hospital in this 87th year surrounded by his children.  Carl was born on August9, 1933 to loving parents Leo and Elizbeth (nee Mueller).  Beloved husband for 44 years to Mary Edith Whatley.  Loving Father of Christa (Allan), Carmen, Kim (Craig) and Michael.  Proud Opa to Stephanie, Sydney, Austin, Danika, Harrison and Tianna.  Friends to the Men of the Round Table and the Stonehaven residents and staff.  Carl is predeceased by his wife Mary, his sister Ingeborg and his brother Horst.  He will be lovingly remembered by all that knew and loved him.

A Funeral Mass will be Celebrated on Wednesday, March 10th, 2021 at 11 a.m. at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, 44 Rothesay Drive, Kanata, Ontario.  Church attendance will be limited to invitation only through the family to Ottawa area visitors and immediate family due to COVID 19 restrictions of the church.  If you are attending, please read the instructions regarding COVID 19.  The Funeral Mass can be view online at https://wwwfacebook.com/holyredeemerkanata/ . Visitation will be held at Accettone Funeral Home, 384 Finley Avenue, Ajax, Ontario on Friday, March 12th at 11am – 1pm followed by the Interment at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery at 355 Taunton Road, Whitby, Ontario.  Because of COVID, attendance will be by invitation only through the family.  If attending, please follow the Covid-19 restriction of the Funeral Home and Cemetery.
