Carl Nicholas Henry Halchuk

HALCHUK, Carl Nicholas Henry. A warm, kind-hearted and playful soul, this true gentleman will be dearly missed. Carl passed peacefully at May Court Hospice, on March 29, 2024 at the age of 87. Pre-deceased by his best friend and beloved wife of 47 years, Gwendolyn Anne (Carruthers). Loving father of Stephen (Karen), Chris (Lissa Wong) and Laura (Franco Sicoli). Cherished Poppa/Grandpa of Emma, Joseph, Izzy and Isaac. Dearest big brother of Anna Halchuk. Predeceased by his parents Kathleen (Prytula) and Alexander Halchuk. Carl served for many years as the Head of Art and Design for the Research Branch of Agriculture Canada. Carl's ability to capture the beauty and fine detail in his watercolour landscapes was unprecedented and his love of nature was reflected in his work. Carl's paintings adorn the walls of admirers across Canada and internationally. The family wishes to send a special thanks to all of the caregivers for their support and compassion. Friends may call at the Garden Chapel of Tubman Funeral Homes, 3440 Richmond Road, Ottawa on Saturday, May 4 from 12:30 to 2 p.m. A celebration of life will be held in the Chapel at 2 p.m., followed by a reception. Memorial donations are graciously welcome in memory of Carl to Hospice Care Ottawa or The Dementia Society of Ottawa and Renfrew County
