March 17, 1938 – November 28, 2022

David passed away unexpectedly on Monday November 28th, 2022.

He is survived by his loving wife and best friend Marilyn, brother Phil (Maria), brother-in-law Ted Johnston (Pamela), nephews Trevor and Andrew and niece Kate.

David proudly held a British foreign going Master’s Ticket which enabled him to work for many years with the Toronto Harbour Commission and then with the Federal Government, Ship Safety Division. He was a long-time enthusiastic member of the Company of Master Mariners, Capital Division.

He was also heavily involved in municipal issues, having been for many years the Director for Planning issues for the Stittsville Village Association, as well as helping organize the SVA’s Parade of Lights.

At David’s request, there will be no funeral service. An informal gathering of family and friends will be held in the spring.

Special thanks to the paramedics and Queensway Carleton Hospital Emergency room staff for their heroic efforts to save David.
