French, Bruce "Buck"
January 27, 1935 - May 18, 2020
The son of Albert and Eva (nee Taylor), Buck grew up in Westboro with his devoted sister Audrey (Keith). He raised his children Sheryl (Shad), David (Kelly), Brent (Anna), and the late Melanie, together with their mother Bettyann, in the suburb of Crystal Beach, sharing many magical years of camping, ice skating, exuberant Christmases and broken curfews. With his marriage to the late Jill (nee Gent) and their many years in Constance Bay, Buck became Bruce and expanded his heart and his family to include step-children Lesley, Michael (Lyn), Susan (Keith), Brian (Annette), the late Grahaeme (Shannon), and Andrew (Sheila). He took great pleasure in the exploits of his many grandchildren - Emmett, Justin, Jenna, Erica, Laura, Brandon, Michael, Adam, Kevin, Liam, Javier, Jenica, Bryson, Kara, Larry, Christopher, Lisa, and Nicholas - and great grandchildren Olivia, Jameson, Sullivan and Isla. As Buck, he spent his working years at Metropolitan Life Insurance, where many lifelong friendships took root. And in his final years Bruce made special new connections within the Lynwood Park retirement community. A true gentleman with a quick wit, warm heart, playful spirit and quiet strength, he was an enthusiastic sportsman, skilled craftsman and avid dancer for all of his life. Bruce was dearly loved and will be sorely missed. He made all of our lives richer and left us with the gift of wonderful memories. No funeral service will be held. Please consider contributing to a charity you care about in his memory. Condolences, tributes and donations may be made at www.tubmanfuneralhomes.com
