Bridget Haines (nee Minehan)
At the Ottawa Hospital - Civic Campus, surrounded by family, on Thursday, February 18, 2016 at the age of 89. Predeceased by her husband Peter of 45 years. Loving mother of Charissa Watts (Robert), Paul Haines (the late Andrea), and Bill Haines (Sherri Coxon). Nana to Melanie and Shawn; Garrett and Kyra; Alicia and Jessica. Predeceased by her sister Patricia Minehan and fondly remembered by her many relatives in England. Bridget was a child evacuee during the London bombing of WWII, then worked as a draftswoman after the war for Air Ministry, later working for Johnson & Phillips, an electrical firm, where she met her husband Peter. They were married in England in October of 1956. She briefly worked for British Petroleum before immigrating to Canada where she raised her three children and has lived for 58 years. Special thanks to CCAC and We Care Home Health Services for their care and support. Graveside service, at Capital Memorial Gardens, will take place on Saturday, February 27 at 3:30 pm, followed by a Celebration of Life at Garden Chapel of Tubman Funeral Homes, 3440 Richmond Road, Nepean from 5:00 - 7:00 pm.
