Beloved son of the late Margaret Graff and husband of Dianna (Dee) Lefebvre Graff. The irony is not lost on this family. He has come full circle. Raised on Cambridge St until high school in Ottawa’s Centertown, Brian passed peacefully at St. Vincent Hospital (Bruyere), blocks from his family’s first home. Over the last four months, with his family at his bedside, Brian made sure he shared stories of that life with them, ensuring the history and legacy was transferred to his kids and grandkids, making sure that we knew how proud he was of us and how much he appreciated every minute spent with us.
From the “mean street” of Cambridge to the posh neighborhood of the Glebe, Brian attended Glebe Collegiate where he met his lifelong friends and fellow athletes. A graduate of Carleton University in Social Sciences, Brian’s essence was always caring for others. He was a gifted athlete at Glebe where he participated in many sports. His career was varied from social work to wholesale fish sales to real estate, always leaving his unique impression.
His wife of 64 years, Dee, used her nursing background to tend to him so devotedly over the past 18 months making sure he could remain at home as long as possible, whereupon he was admitted to the palliative care unit at St. Vincent (Bruyere).
Prior to that, Brian and Dee raised their family in the McKellar Park community making sure their home on Mansfield Ave was the gathering place.
