BRENT “BEAR” HODGINS WOOLSEY
June 4, 1950 - September 25, 2021
With broken hearts we announce the passing of our father, Brent “Bear” Hodgins Woolsey, on September 25, 2021.
Brent will be deeply missed by his loyal partner Gaétane Rivet, and his children, Tammy (Graeme), Travis (Fiona), Tracy (Mike), and Shane, as well as Gaétane’s lovely daughter, Annabelle (Guillaume). He was also a loving Grandpa to his 9 grandchildren: Noah, William, Ava, Payton, Ainsley, Declan, Hayden, Evelyn, and Marine.
Brent was predeceased by his wife, Brenda Woolsey (nee DeMerchant), his siblings: Andrew, Darlene, Bob, and Brenda, and his parents Heman and Ida Woolsey.
He is survived by his siblings, Lennis (Shirley), Graham (Colombe), Lorna (Ron), Betty (John), and Jimmy (Ellen), as well as many nieces and nephews.
Brent was a dedicated City of Ottawa employee for 42 years, he loved camping, spending time with his family, and had a passion for restoring vintage cars, creating one of a kind hot rods. He will be missed by many friends, neighbours, and colleagues.
Our deepest gratitude to Gaétane for the love, care, and compassion she gave to dad in their 7 year partnership, as well as, supporting him fully through his illness and the last moments of his life.

Visitation will be held at Tubman Funeral Homes, 3440 Richmond Road, Nepean on Thursday September 30th from 2pm to 5pm and 7pm to 9pm. Due to COVID precautions visitation will require a scheduled appointment, to register please scroll below.
The funeral will be Friday October 1st, at 11am by invitation only, but can be streamed online by scrolling below.
Interment will be at Pinecrest Cemetery, 2500 Baseline Rd, Ottawa at 12:00pm and will be open to all those that want to attend.
For anyone that would like to, we know dad would love to see your classic cars, please bring them to the visitation, funeral, and/or internment.
