Ralph, Bradley Robert
"Without spirit, there is no art."
Bradley Ralph
On Thursday Sept. 8, 2016, in his 86 th year, our beloved Bradley died in his sleep.
He leaves behind his cherished wife Susanne, and dear children Kelsey, Cristin and Pamela (Hans-Peter), and grandchildren Justine (Jubilee), Kelysha, Kharis, Caitlin, Graham and Madeleine, and great-grandson Samuel. He was sadly predeceased by his beloved son Stevan (Vivian), and by his first wife, Verne Barrett. He will also be deeply missed by his dear brother Robert, nephew David and family, and sister-in-law Anneliese.
Bradley spent his life working to make his community and world a better place. He was a devoted volunteer and generous supporter of the Unitarian Church, Unitarian House, and the Ottawa Food Bank. He was also a proud public servant with the federal Department of Supply and Services for two decades, and before that worked in management in private industry.
Bradley loved people, and found the beauty and goodness in everyone and in his surroundings, which he expressed through his kind words and deeds and in his art. He was a passionate and accomplished painter whose work hangs in collections in Canada and abroad. His abstract oils, and watercolour and acrylic landscapes, including those depicting the Ottawa Valley, Dorset (The Thomas Hardy series) and Scotland have been exhibited in many venues.
We would like to express our deep appreciation for the excellent and compassionate care that Bradley received from the wonderful staff at Carlingview Manor, Ottawa.
A Celebration of Bradley's Life will take place Friday, Oct. 21, 2016 at 2:00 p.m., with a reception to follow, at the First Unitarian Congregation of Ottawa, 30 Cleary Avenue. We invite everyone who knew Bradley over the years to join us in remembrance.
