Benjamin Jacob Wilson of Stittsville, Ottawa, devoted father and champion of youth baseball, died unexpectedly on January 23, 2018 at the age of 47.
Ben is survived by his dear wife Michelle Barbrick, beloved children Abigail, Aidan and Penelope, parents Jeff and Terry Wilson of Orlando, FL and siblings Bradley (of Indianapolis, IN), Barbara (of Silver Spring, MD) and Sarah (of Los Angeles, CA).
Ben was born in Cincinnati on September 16, 1970. He attended high school in New Hartford, NY and graduated from Ball State University in 1992 with a BS in Mathematics. Ben worked for Ribbon Technologies (formerly Sonus) as Manager of Software Engineering.
Ben was an avid sports fan and participant. He enjoyed playing baseball, basketball and soccer and was a faithful fan of the Milwaukee Brewers and Cleveland Browns. But his true passion was developing youth baseball in the Ottawa area. He coached Stittsville boy's baseball and basketball. He will be deeply missed by his friends, family, and all who knew him.
Visitation is Sunday, January 28th from 1-3pm and 6-8pm; funeral service is 2:00 pm Monday, January 29th at the Tubman Funeral Home, 3440 Richmond Road, Nepean, Ontario, K2H 8H7, Canada.
