Arthur Edward Weeden
Sept. 29 th . 1921 - July 1 st . 2018
After a brief illness, Arthur was in the care of the Ottawa Hospital and passed in the early morning on Canada Day.
Arthur was born in St. Mary Cray, Kent, England. His career in science and physics began at Imperial College in London where he was employed as a precision glass blower. Later he worked in nuclear physics and this experience enabled him to immigrate with his family to Canada in 1967 and a position as a Physics Technologist at AECL in Chalk River, Ontario. Arthur retired in May 1983.
Arthur is survived by his wife of 68 years: Olive Monica (nee Tytherleigh), his two sons, Martin (Helen) and Trevor (France), and his daughter Diane McLaurin (Les).
Arthur was very proud of his six grandchildren Janet, Graham, Laura, Eric, Bradley and Becky and especially proud of his three great-grandsons Brady, Clark and Travis.
The family wish to thank the staff at the Stittsville Villa Retirement Home for their years of care and support for Arthur and the family, plus the family thanks the staff of the Neurological Acute Care Unit at the Civic Campus of the Ottawa Hospital for their excellent care and devotion.
Arthur is in the care of the Tubman Funeral Home in Carp.
