Anne Rudawska

July 13, 1929 — September 13, 2018

Anne passed away peacefully, on Thursday, September 13, 2018 at the age of 89. Beloved wife of the late Shelley Presentey. Loving mother of Fabienne, Nicole and Danielle. Dearest sister of Nettie. Anne will be missed by her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by many friends, especially Ron, who brought her laughter and joy at the sunset of her life.

Anne was born in Arvida, Quebec, to immigrant parents from Ukraine. She grew up loving music and dancing, but followed her heart to study nursing at St. Michael's Hospital in Toronto. She completed studies in mathematics at Sir George Williams University in Montreal and worked as an operating room nurse at the Montreal Neurological Institute under Dr. Wilder Penfield. Concurrently she was a flight attendant for Trans Canada Airlines where she met her husband-to-be on the Maritime routes. After raising her family, Anne went back to college to update her nursing skills and worked with neo-nates at the Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario. She also provided private nursing to the elderly. When she retired she opened a private day care where her love of children created unbreakable bonds.

Throughout her life her devotion to her faith was strong and sustaining. She enjoyed singing in the church choir and she provided pastoral care to patients at the Civic Hospital for many years. She loved to knit, garden and bake, and her daughters treasure the memories of learning at her side. Her sense of humour was legendary and she could see fun in everything.

Anne's family wishes to thank nurses Ashta, Nixie and Meheret, and staff at the Prince of Wales Retirement Manor, the supportive staff at the Champlain LHIN and Saint Elizabeth Health Care, as well as Dr. Farhat Motamedi, Dr. Christopher Glover and Dr. Juan Salcedo for the medical care given to her over many years. A special thank you goes to the Paramedic team who showed kindness and compassion to her family. Visitation will be held at the

A Funeral Service will be held in the chapel at 2pm. Burial at Capital memorial Gardens to follow.
