Anne Camrass

April 23, 1931 — March 9, 2021

Carolyn Camrass (1931-2021) passed away on March 9, 2021 at the Embassy West Senior Living Retirement Home after having her family at her side. Predeceased by Gerald Camrass (her husband of 60 years) and her brother Guy Darcy, Carolyn leaves behind her daughter Heather, son Stephen (Chara Camrass), granddaughters Jamie and Elody, nieces Nina and Ruth, and nephews Peter, Philip and Paul. Carolyn is fondly remembered by her Smith family cousins and by the many people whose lives she impacted including Dorothy, David, Ronald and Zachary. She will be missed by Lorraine who was her sister in all the ways that mattered.

Born in Matheson Ontario, Carolyn grew up in mining towns of Northern Ontario and Quebec. Carolyn was an athlete with a particular love of skiing. Throughout her life she travelled to see much of the world. Including Australia, New Zealand, Europe and China

She is remembered as sassy and spicy, energetic and adventurous. A no-nonsense woman whose heart was open and welcoming to friends and family alike. She never backed away from helping anyone in need. She spoke her mind and lived her life the way she wanted. When she could no longer live life under her terms, she died the same way.

Following her wishes, there are no formal services. She will be laid to rest with her mother Amanda and her brother Guy. Friends and family may choose to honour her with a donation to the Canadian Cancer Society.
