Ann Richmond

June 18, 1922 — August 3, 2015

It is with deep sadness that we announce the death of our dearest mother Ann. Ann was born Ada Annie Richmond in Darlington, County Durham, England on June 18, 1922. Ann died after a short illness at the Queensway Carleton Hospital on August 3, 2015, surrounded by her loving children. We are heartbroken at her loss. Our mother was truly the matriarch of her large and boisterous family. The guidance, hard work and love given to each of her children was boundless and endless. Her loving husband Joe of 67 years was truly devoted to her. Their enduring commitment to one another and to their children was really quite wonderful. Ann was predeceased by her sweet Joe, who was born Joseph Levis Mario Paluck in Buckingham, Quebec. In England, Ann was predeceased by her parents George Albert and Ada Richmond, brothers Albert, Bill and Herbert also sisters Margaret Betty and Doreen and her infant daughter Mary Elizabeth Ann, and is survived in Darlington by her dearest brothers Kenny and Arthur and her sweet sisters Joyce, Shirley and Pauline. Ann deeply felt the loss of her daughter Anita (Magis) and her grandson Ian (McGlynn). Mom is survived by her children Margaret Fortey (Peter), Lorraine Potvin (Jean), Suzanne Paluck-Kingdon (Daniel), Anthony, Mario Lise (Robillard), Raymond, Yvonne Switzer (Grant), Rose Marie Beaudin (Bernie), youngest son Marcel and son-in-law Andy. Ann loved each of her granddaughters, Kathryn, Kim, Natalie, Leslie, Sophianne, Allison, Meaghan, Amanda, Sarah, Michelle, Melanie, Vanessa and step-granddaughter Amanda Ringrose. Mom was dearly loved by her grandsons, Kevin, Justin, Nathan, Chad, Scott, Mark and Bradley. Later our mother’s life was so enhanced by her great- grandchildren – they brought her so much joy: girls, Nastassja, Nada, Lilliwyn, Benita, Julianna and Esme, also step-granddaughter Brianna; boys, Joshua, Micheal, Connor, Asher, Thomas, babies Ronin and Benjamin and her darling sweet Riley; also great-grand- stepsons Payton, Joshua, Jamieson. For the last few years of her life mom really enjoyed and formed a great affection for her feline family. We would like to warmly invite friends and family to gather in the Garden Chapel at Tubman Funeral Home, 3440 Richmond Road, Ottawa on Sunday, August 9, 2015 for a Celebration of Ann’s Life. Service will begin at 12 noon.
