GREEN, Ann (nee URQUHART) With great sadness we announce the passing of Ann Green on March 30, 2024 at the age of 68. She is survived by her daughters, Alison (Stuart) and Marian (Eric), and grandchildren Charlotte, Sam, and Hayden. Ann was born on February 8, 1956 in Farnham, Quebec to Orley and Lillian Urquhart, 3rd of 4 children. While originally aspiring to be a nun, Ann’s career took her to the insurance industry, the library sector, and then after raising children to the Federal Government where she stayed until her retirement. Ann was devoted to her children and was an active Brownie leader, PTA member and entrepreneur, even starting a hometown newspaper that once featured Marian’s drawings as the cover page. She was passionate about learning, taking deep dives into world religion and literature, and was a fantastic writer. She adored cats and always had at least one or two who lived their best lives with her. A skilled gardener, Ann especially favoured yellow roses above all other flowers. Ann felt very deeply and hearing about her babies and grandbabies brought her immense joy. Funeral Service will be held at Tubman Funeral Home – Westboro Chapel, 403 Richmond Road on Thursday, April 11, 2024 at 1 pm followed by reception at 2 pm. For those who wish, and in lieu of flowers, donations to the Ottawa Humane Society would be appreciated by the family.
