Rev. Angela M. Bailey (B.A., B.Ed., B.Th., M.Div.) died peacefully at Ruddy-Shenkman Hospice, Kanata, on June 15 aged 78. Born and raised in the U.K., Angela emigrated with her devoted husband Keith to Canada in 1967.
Predeceased in her youth by adored brother, Paul (d.1954), she leaves Keith, her loving daughters Cathy (Duncan), Elaine (Joey), and Margie (Mike), her beloved grandchildren Ross, Scott, Peter, Rachelle, Mayhew, and Kenneth, her dear sisters Jennifer and Corrina.
A gifted storyteller, actor, and scholar, Angela was able to open minds to a progressive Christian theology that supported the interfaith community in Ottawa, for which she was honoured with the Ottawa Distinguished Women: Women of Inspiration Award (2022).
The family extends heartfelt thanks to the dedicated care team of CPMA and Ruddy-Shenkman Hospice, with an especial thank you to Drs. A. M. Rajani Villegas and Mark Clemons.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Bells Corners United Church on Thursday June 27 at 11 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Ruddy-Shenkman Hospice, Bells Corners United Church, or a charity of your choice.
