Andrew “Andy” Bernard Minnock

Peacefully in hospital, Monday April 29, 2019 at age 94, after a life well lived. Son of the late Andrew Minnock Sr. and Annie O’Byrne of Dublin, Ireland. Born in England 1924, raised in Dublin, Ireland, Andy emigrated to Canada in 1957. Much loved husband of the late Marion Joyce (Terry) Minnock (d.2013), (formally van As, nee Cottrell). Generous and caring stepfather of Jennifer (Dick Johnston) of Calgary, Karen (Bob Eagleson) of Nepean, and the late Caroline van As (d.2014). Adored Grandpa, Great-Grandpa and Opa of Allison (Mike Rowntree) of Calgary and their children Kenadie and Cole; Matthew Johnston (Kim) of Calgary and their children Linkin and Kaleigh; Erin (James Grozelle) of South Mountain and their children Westley and Alexis; and Lori (James Blair) of Stittsville and their child Reagan. Andy served with Bell Canada engineering for 30 years and was an usher at St. Augustine’s Church for over 36 years. The family are grateful for the loving care provided to Andy in recent weeks by staff on 8-West at the Ottawa General Hospital and for the last 6 years at Ravines Retirement Residence. In accordance with Andy’s wishes, there will be a short visitation at the Garden Chapel of Tubman Funeral Home, 3440 Richmond Rd., Nepean, on Tuesday May 7, 2019 from 1 to 2 pm followed by a memorial service in the chapel at 2 pm.
