Born and raised in Washington DC, Amy always wanted to be a teacher. Studies in Philadelphia and Harrisburg PA then took her to Ottawa where she began a long, successful career. A master teacher, she was cheerfully empathetic and spread joy in every venue. With bravery, ingenuity and will, Amy made Canada her new home, complete with cherished friendships and admiring co-workers. She showed warmth, generosity of spirit, humor and optimism in every situation. Although frugal by nature and upbringing, she spared no expense on gifts for every occasion. Amy's family and friends have been delighted recipients of her thoughtfulness. In retirement, along with her loving husband Wayne (deceased), she was involved with various award-winning endeavors that brought great satisfaction and opportunities for travel. Diligence, salesmanship, dedication and work ethic - all recognized and honored. Amy was loved and appreciated by everyone who knew her; and the world is a better place because she was in it. Survivors include her parents, Alvin and Linda Neuman; four siblings, Betsy Wilson, Gary Neuman, Wendy Sidlofsky, and Andrea Neuman; extended family, and many friends . Friends may call at the Garden Chapel of Tubman Funeral Homes, 3440 Richmond Road, Nepean (between Bayshore and Baseline Road) on Saturday April 6 from 10:30 to 11:30 AM , followed by a Memorial Service in the chapel at 11:30 AM .
