Alan Westland

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Alan Westland. He passed peacefully on Saturday November 18^th, 2023, at the age of 93. Loving husband and best friend of Mary Diwell.

Alan was a brilliant man and accomplished many things in his life. He attended school in Germany and became a graduate student, also doing conventions in France and Australia.  Alan was a Professor of Chemistry and taught at the University of Ottawa from 1958 until he had retired. He also worked at Energy mines and resources in Ottawa and made many friends.

Alan was an enthusiast of the Smiths Falls Railway Museum, being an avid member for many years.
