Donald Bruce King
June 23, 1966 - April 21, 2023
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Donald Bruce King "DK, Saucer King, Kinger". At the age of 56 years, Don was taken far too soon after a strong battle with Leukemia. He died in the hospital on Friday evening with his loving wife by his side.
He is survived by his father Bruce (Rita), his mother Alve "Terry" and his devoted wife, Rochelle. He is lovingly remembered by his daughter Madison, step-sons Derek and Sheldon, sister Linda (John), sister in-law Luanne (Mo), brothers in-law Paul (Natalie) and Dan (Tracy), niece Theresa, and nephews Dale, Jaden, Kiyan, Raphael, Alex and Jesse.
Born in New Westminster, B.C., owner of King’s Automotive, member, coach and sponsor of countless youth and adult sports teams, passionate wake surfer, water enthusiast, and proud Calabogie laker, Don has touched the lives of so many. We will miss his zest for life, his selfless fun loving personality, and his boisterous laugh that made everyone feel happy and welcome.
Our family would like to extend a special thank you for the outpouring of love and compassion we have received from the community, as well as the Healthcare Team at the Ottawa General Hospital. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the Canadian Cancer Society.
To honour Don’s memory, please join us on Wednesday, May 3rd, from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., for a Celebration of Life at The Crazy Horse Stonegrill Steakhouse & Saloon, located at 115 Roland Michener Drive in Kanata. A special tribute will be made at 4:30 p.m.
